This image is my rendition of a tutorial for 3 animated candles by"Samanthie". The candles are from scratch, but the decorative elements are tubes from Jasc. The designs on the candles are rather random renditions in that you draw squiggles, circles etc. on the left hand side of a candle and then copy and paste it's mirror image on the right. Mine just happened to turn out like a picture of a bird, a young woman and the face of an old man. It sort of suggested to me the freshness of youth, depicted by the red rose and summer foliage; and the seasoning of age, depicted by the autumn leaves.
The flames start out as a linear gradient filled elipses which are then adjusted with the paintbrush in animation shop, frame by frame. That way you can visualize the effects of your efforts in the animation before saving the final image. It also gives you the opportunity to undo any changes you don't particularly like.
